The Inbetweeners The Movie
Film 4 is eyeing a big-screen outing for E4 teen sitcom The Inbetweeners.
Writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris have confirmed that they are working on a script after receiving an initial commission from Channel 4’s film arm.
The script is likely to centre on an overseas holiday undertaken by suburban sixth-formers Will, Jay, Neil and Simon.
Morris told The Sun: “We always try to make the show as real as we can, and we think the boys of that age tend to go on holiday abroad - we think a film could do justice to that. Most films I understand never get made, but that’s what we’re doing.”
The sitcom was named best comedy at the TV Quick and TV Choice awards earlier this week and Beesley and Morris are currently working on a third series, to be produced by their indie Bwark.
