MAG PS3 beta sign-ups open now

Sony has opened sign-ups for the European MAG beta test.

Head to the European PlayStation blog to put your name down.

There are 16,000 spaces, and they will be given out in weekly batches using a first come, first served rule.

The MAG beta will span seven servers and be open for six hours a day from Monday to Friday.

Opening times are 5pm to 8pm and 12am to 3am BST (UK time).

Go get 'em.

The codes will be sent out in batches, we're adding a set number of users per week - the first batch goes out tomorrow.

Dont worry if you have signed up and dont receive a code this week - it's first come, first served and so you'll be added later on in the trial.

I like it , but there are sum serious players on there , barking orders at you (which i spose is good and keeps everyone focussed on the task in hand).

I know its a beta and "early code", but graphically its a 6.5/10 at this current moment.

I find the default controller layout a bit of a pain and slightly confusing when trying to cycle your weapons and end up cycling your "gear" instead and vice versa but after more play testing it should come natural.

A headset is a must for this , otherwise you might feel a bit "left out"

I like the different type of game styles and was having a blast tonight on domination (think thats what its called).

Would prefer an onscreen message when in the queue waiting for a game , so it actually mentions you are in a queue and game starts shortly, cos if you didnt know better you would think nothing is happening.

Lots of people in a game at once and the map seems huge. Lots going on at once enemy all over.

Looks promising and when its finally released (next year) will sell loads.

Thats it for now , looking forward to sum more action in the coming days / weeks / months.

I agree with all of this, played a bit today and its going to be one of those games that will have die hard players on it!

I was getting barked orders all over the shot! I actually was amazed at the dam size of this!

Played it in the private beta - it takes a little getting used too. But once you do, its freakin awesome.

The secret to this game is comms. When you have a squad that vcommuncate with each other its brilliant. When you have a squad that doesnt its damn frustrating. Particularly if you're squad leader.

Good, I played Planetside lots in the early days and have been waiting forever for a worthy replacement, Huxley has become the ultimate piece of vapourware.
