older firmware help

my 360 was flashed about 3 years ago but still plays all the new games ,i am now considering going online ,so do i need to update my drives firmware or is it ok as long as the games are all verified with abgx

If it was flashed about 3 years ago then the firmware is non stealth and MS will ban you soon after going online. Flash it with the latest firmware for your drive before going online

Im not sure thats 100% accurate is it ? As far as I remember it, the Samsung was stealth (as long as the stealth remained on the disks), and the Hitachi was not as it didnt pass through the stealth details from the disk until C4E started doing the Hitachi at xtreme 2.3.
It was a long time ago though, maybe my memory is hazy.
The OP should be updating though.....but I think its likely to be an instant ban when connected. Dont shell out on Gold till youve been on Silver for a day or two !
