    Help HELP on fifa

ok grabbed fifa 10 today - my first footy game in years.
i'm ready to send the fooker back tomorrow, i'm that frustrated with it
playing as newcastle - but the fookers can't hit a barn door (apart from smith) - i know i shouldn't expect miracles from them

someone help me before i smash my pad up!

give me some tips please, i really want to get into this game.

Just have to give it time. Fifa 09 was my first Fifa for quite a few years and it took me ages to get

back into playing the Fifa genre after playing Pro Evo.

Took me quite a few years to get used to it again.

I assume you are on the amateur level? If not, get onto that right away. Also, learn the finesse shot (RB as you shoot) it helps less accurate players keep the ball down and on target. And don't run everywhere, so keep your hand off the RT as much as possible, I'm finding in this version its really making a difference. Oh, and don't play the big sides as Newcastle, if this is what you are doing. Try playing some lower ranked sides first. You have to learn how to score, this is not an arcade game anymore, and once you learn the techniques, they are valid at every level.

Funny, I bought Fifa10 yesterday myself, and I havent played a soccer game for many years, possilby even before the old Xbox ones. I too am utterly useless....I dont normaly like playing single player games, and will go straight to online...but I darent with this as I would face utter humiliation !
I havent enjoyed a soccer game since Tekhan World Cup to be honest though...they don't come close in playability these days.

yep playing on amatuer - i enjoyed the demo and could normally win, but i've started doing the Championship, and whilst I managed to beat plymouth 5-0, i really struggled to score in other games.

i've been using the RB shot, but half the time it ends up going straight to the keeper.
I'll have another good go today (when i'm not drunk) and see how i get on.
was a bit annoyed the andy carroll is as fast as a 3 legged donkey

They changed the RB shot in the patch that came out Friday. It's now more difficult to score with it. But its still more accurate than a normal shot. Just keep practicing, don't give up. Also lay off using the sprint button (RT).
