    Default Romantic Weekend break

I need to book something for the bird for 2 nights away from the 18th - 20dec. I got a budget of 2-300 quid. Any ideas?

Its got to be something dead nice. She isn't pleased at the moment as she thinks we are going to a live screening of Top Gear

How about a weekend of xmas shopping in Manchester? It might not be your cup of tea but the missus should like it.

The MacDonald hotel is £140 for a double room for two nights, you've got the biggest primark in britain nearby, the sound of music is on at one of the theatres, and the xmas german market should be on as usual as well. Throw in some of the best restaurants outside of london, like San Carlo and you've got a weekend.

Book a ferry crossing and a hotel and drive to Bruges. Very romantic city and even more so around the Christmas period. Or get the train.
You should be able to get a decent hotel for <200 quid and the rest you can spend on the transport getting there.

You can book a hotel through expedia (a saw a couple of good reviewed ones for around 200 quid). The remain £100 can be used to book a ferry on the p&o website or go via eurostar www.raileurope.co.uk
