    Default No USB At All

    hey guys
dont suppose anyone has had this before, i have changed the case on my spare pc, then formatted and re-installed windows.

Now not ONE of the usb ports will work, 4 at the back and 2 at the front via a usb header on the board.

I have tried all the usual like removing them all from device manager, but nothing i do will work, i cant find the exact prob on google, like not workin JUST after a install of xp

    any thoughts really appreciated

Have you installed the chipset drivers for the motherboard? If not, installing the motherboard drivers should cure the problem.

if you get nowhere with drivers, I would bring the motherboard etc out of the case and fire it up, you may have some kinda short..

test with usb keyboard in the bios in all your ports. Also check the usb header it on the way the board needs it. I have seen some installs of windows screw up and do this try chipset from their web site

i also tried with the usb header taken out aswell, and the usb header wires are in 1 big block so it only goes on 1 way

Check your PSU, see if you can get the voltage readings from the bios or using a multimeter.
Strip out everything thats not absolutely necessary to boot up, then try testing your usb.
