Is there anywhere i can get an xp oem cd for an acer (aspire 5315) laptop, like the one's dell do?

Find ANY OEM XP Pro (from the usual places) and use the key on the underside of the Laptop to activate it. Then just download the drivers and applications from Acer's website.

it's my old man's laptop and it originally came with vista installed, but he did'nt like it, so the key underneath's for vista therefore i have no key for xp, that's why i asked about a acer specific like a dell oem disc, i've told him to try 7 but for the life of me i can't convince him

Yeah try torrents. You should be able to get a retail XP CD. There are also some updated custom ones out but be sure to read the readme.txt as sometimes they install extra 3rd party apps.

Keys are never an issue for XP. Just dont use the Windows Updates.

will look roud and see what i can find, i'm just going to try and get him to navigate to 7, i think once he's used it he'll wonder why he did'nt start using it sooner, cuz i mean it's not like his laptop would struggle to run it, cheers for the input guys,

do what i did for my mum, install windows 7 and say you cannot downgrade from windows vista!
