Crappy AMD Thunderbird 1ghz. Upgrading to an Athlon64 3500/3200 VERY soon.
Amd 64 2800 runs all my apps and can cope with multiple windows. I do a fair bit of web design, use Photoshop and watch tv on my PC all at the same time. My mail window and MSN are always open and I have no problem running them all. I can now watch TV and burn a DVD without loss of picture.
I am definately an AMD man:thumbs
Amazing how views change over the years....since origanal posts I know have....
2 x AMD 64 one at 3200+ and one of 3400+
1 x Intel P4 LGA 775 running at 3400Mhz
1 x AMD Athlon XP 2200+
1 x AMD Athlon XP 1900+
I now actually use the Intel P4 for all my power hungry work doing 3D graphics, video editing and special FX. I stick to the AMD 64s for day to day and game playing.....and the AMD XP is just for the odd bit of programming.....the last AMD XP is for running Linux.
my desktop is a AMD 64 3200+ Winchester (skt939) and my laptop has a Intel Mobile Centrino 740 (1.7mhz).
Both run excellent for my needs
Also got an old Sony Vaio lappy running a P3 450mhz
Just gone from a Pentium 4 3.2 Prescott to An AMD 64 3500+
Have got to say the AMD does seem a lot quicker. WIll just have to try and get P4 PC back off trading standards now so I can have a second PC to do vid editiing on.
Chris
3500 winchester @ 2.7 ghz
2.8 p4c @ 3.5 ghz
3.2 p4e in my laptop

Both work pretty good for my use
ive got a p4 2.4b o/c to 2.9.
I chose p4 as at the time it had a higher overclock ratio than amd.
well i havnt bothered to upgrade for a couple of years and home pc is running an AMD 1800+ XP at 1.53ghz, suppose i could O/C it but i cant really be bothered. PC at work is running a P4 3.2ghz which is rather quick
amd xp 3.0ghz
fast enough for me..when the time comes, 64 bit processor all the way!
If I'm not back in five minutes... wait longer!
I've got a P4 3.2Ghz 64 Bit Processor - 2mb L2 Cache - 800 MHz FSB. It's the one in the new PC's Aldi's are selling. More than happy with it
