hi mate,
yes i have been looking at building a mame style arcade cabinet myself, unfortuntely i havent been able to get more than some research done due to cash problems.
how far along is your cabinet?
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.
I can help with Wiring abit, I've done a similar thing using arcade components for another project. Are you doing it with a PC inside or actual hardware?
I did initially want to just buy a flatpack kit, however the UK vendors are just a rip off. Gremlin Solutions do a USA style cocktail kit for £480 + VAT !

To be honest, money is tight here too, that is why I have decided to source the tools, a cocktail cabinet plan and courage to build the thing myself.
I have just started to cut the panels out so still a way to go.
I'm sure a couple of people on here have made their own mame cabs. Just search mame in thread title and see what comes up.
I have a proper cabinet plugged into a mame box it is 85% complete i willing to sell if interested. It is a 25" cabinet with 2 joypads (6 button) it has the jamma harness wired into a PC it has coin door. The PC has the http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainf.html graphics card in the PC to allow authentication. If your interested, PM me for more details
Special K+ enjoyed as a healthy breakfast!
Feel free to ask for any advice. Im a qualified electronic engineer who used to work in the amusement industry (many years ago), but have retained an interest. Due to wife etc, I am now resigned to PCB collecting, but I do have a single cabinet remaining with the 60 in 1 board in it, and more recently an lcd monitor conversion.
Thanks guys for the support, in all honesty on a technical level I know what I am doing. I used to own a Tabletop years ago and converted it to JAMMA so I do have some background.
What I am struggling with however is to where I can source a genuine arcade 19" monitor?
I made my own supergun, basically a jamma cab without the cab.
The only pcb i have left is streetfighter 2.
