The ps2 pad has a Bluetooth receiver built in. All you have to do is cut the controller cable in half, plug the controller port into the ps2. The ps2 will recogise and acknowledge that the port is in but the controller is not responding. It will then send a distress signal(via infra-red) to the controller, thus activating the Bluetooth. Once activated, it can be paired with the ps3.

I have a PS2 adapter for my pc.... (similar but not the same as: http://www.meritline.com/high-speed-...?source=fghdac).

I tested to see if this works with my ps3 and Motorstorm Pacific Rift. If i plug this into my ps3 and plug a dual shock 2 in the buttons work but the d-pad and analogues don't. If i plug a PsOne pad in it doesn't work on any of the menus but oddly works in game!!

Sooooo...... i think it's very possible to get it working, i have a friend who claims that a single controller adapter works as opposed to the dual adapter i have.

because if you already own ps2 pads and can get them running for a fraction of the price of a new ps3 controller then why not?!

I know i'm dragging this up again but there is a wired solution here for £2.97

    Subsonic PS2 to PS3 Controller Adapter (PS3): Amazon.co.uk: PC & Video Games

Might be useful to someone... apparently compatible with almost everything.... PS2 guitars, steering wheels etc.....
