Band Hero - Laughed my tits off!

I have just tried out band hero and there is no doubt that it is a game designed for the band experience and not the solo guitarist.

Anyway, I noticed that they had "American Pie" on the song list (and its the full 8 minute version too) so I thought I would give it a blast. To be fair its a very good version of the song, however I could not believe it when...

As a guitarist you actually play the piano solo at the begining and the end (both last about 1 minute each). Its not as if you could be mistaken as you playing guitar with the piano either... its purely you playing piano on a guitar? WTF

Wait, it gets better. As the main lyrics begin you think that there is a glitch with your speakers or something... but when you get to the 2nd chorus you suddenly realise that its no glitch... the have actually blanked out the word "whiskey" from the singing? As in "Them good old boys were drinkin and rye"

Seriously WTF ??????????? Whiskey is a word to be dubbed????

cant belive they got rid of whiskey i mean what is wrong with that?
seems like the game could be laugh tho (but not in the way they intended)

gonna have to get this game on the d/l list, can you use the instruments from other games do you know?

yeah I noticed a few lyrics being missing like that, theres been a few instances of non guitar instruments being on the guitar controllers on the other games too though.

They block out the word Marijuana on Pixie's Gouge away on Rock Band, its sad really.

Its download content, if you weren't a fan of the band then you'd have no interest in buying the song or wouldn't have heard it beore.

Sorry (well Im not or I wouldn't do it) to bump this thread, but the same point was raised in our house last night. Loving being able to play "other" instruments (as a sax player its great to be able to do the sax solo in Rio, maybe Jazz Hero is coming with a fake plastic sax LOL) but seriously, where do they get off censoring these words? Lets face it, when American Pie is played on the radio they don't edit it out. Oh, except maybe they do in the US. Anyone got any idea?

Still, bloody loving the game. Its finally nice to be able to play one of these games where I know maybe half the songs as opposed to maybe 3 or 4 in any release of Guitar Hero, not being a fan of teenager-based rock music. Fuck me the drumming is hard though!

And, on the BandHero topic....can anyone advise how to play the actual character you are doing the song for...my girls were playing the Taylor Swift song, but I could only figure out how to have some crap made up character on screen, or your avatar...whereas I know from screen shots, you can somehow play as Taylor Swift, and even in the extras it shows you her being motion captured etc for it. Anyone know how to do it ?

Havn`t played it mate but I presume she will be an unlockable character for completing some/all of the tracklist?
