Default Here is a solution to get hd install back

Though this desevered it's own thread.

here is the solution, needs some fiddling not for he noob at present.
    http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=12759.20

It basically is as follows, the Updated "banned file" it sends from live, updates the secdata in nand, it dosn't overwrite the original but writes the new file at a differnt place and tells the os new address for it, we edit the address it tells the os to look for at the old place.
This works encrypted because we are moving one encrypted block so no decrypting needed.

I have found that for games that are already installed to the hard drive on my 360 if I load them quick enough then they seem to work but if I wait for the play from hard drive option then i get the error message.
I don't know if that means that they are playing from the disc or that it doesn't have time to check if its on the hard drive at that stage...

up to you really, after the next update (on usb or game disc) you might want to do a nand back up again so you got the option if you leave it on, no other use can't run xell or get cpu key at present on latest dash. might change in the future.
If you go on live by accident (kids or something) and it wipes it off again you can always re write it if still attached.
It only 7 wires so dont take long anyway.

If you got onw with the 256 built in memory then it takes days through lpt: best get a usb adapter
    xennon and falcon 16 mb
jaspers and zepher 256 and 512

work it out 45 mins for 16 meg ,
    256 is 16 X16 so about 12 hours
    and 512 16X32 about 24 hours.

Ive been trying to get this working all morning. Ive tried 2 different XP PCs with the same result.
When I run the nandpro command it says 'no flash controller found'.

    Anyone got any tips?

I use an tried a few pc's i found the older the better, mines an old amd xp2000. i don't use the resistors on the mod, but defo use the switching diode can't get it to work without. nicked the diode out of a xbox 1 power supply.
There are some settings in the pc bios that you can edit on most pcs for parallel port options, can't remeber which one it's suppose to be on.

This is an old Dell gx280 P4. I dont have the resistors and I do have the diode. From what I have read the port needs to be set to 'normal' or 'SPP'. I have AT, PS/2, ECP and EPP so not sure which it is suposed to be set to.

Just tried a 3rd PC and still didnt read. I was able to set the port to SPP in the BIOS of this one.

I will try another printer cable as this one is very old.

Resistors not needed for uncrippling the hd there only needeed to be get the cpu key, which u cant as its been updated to 8xxx dash.

is the diode the correct way round it will stop it from reading if its the wrong way round

Iv uncrippled 2 today only time consuming as u need to dump the nand twice at least to make sure that it's good
And also solder the cable in place lol other than that all's good

I messed with this early sept when attempting to change my pal 360 to Jap which u cant do anyway as NXE is now signed in the keyvault.

I just done 3 more today
what i find is the hard drive needs to be formatted first if installing games wont work first time.
Although i always test the game install with my spare drive thats not registered to the console that they give me, so it could be that.
Need to ask for the hd to left with the console

I coulod do with about 10 or so m8 if the offer's open

    Cheers
