Ps3 and SkyHD

Just had SkyHD installed and have a ps3 already wired into HDMI on the Samsung LCD,i now have the SkyHD box wired via HDMI too.

Question is, is there a way to have it set up so once i shut down the PS3 it goes back to HDMI for SKyHD At the moment i have to manually scroll through the 'source' until i get to the HDMI for SKy. I would like to to auto change to sky or ps3 depending on whats powered up or when one shuts down....

Any way or any ideas on how you have set your ps3 and SkyHD up?

I just press the sky button on my sky remote and it defaults back to the sky box.....

Don't think you can get it to auto change once one is powered up tho

Yeah i used to do that when i just had sky+ via scart but now they are both HDMI its not having none of it...

Good point.... i'm on sky plus, can't justify HD yet, would be interested to see if there is a solution to this tho.

Yeah me too, also the Samsung LCD doesn't defaults to HDMI so have to get tv remote to change to HDMI..

Might be worth posting the model of your TV mate, i have a Sammy Series 5 and the source switching isn't too bad on that.... i press source and it brings up a list, the list only shows things that are connected and turned on, so if i have my ps3 on only HDMI 2 will show. If i have my amp and ps3 switched on it shows HDMI 1 & 2.

My mate has a series 4 (well the model before mine which i assume is a 4) and he has to scroll through all sources without a list being brought up and he has to scroll through all options regardless of whether something is connected or not.

I have a Sammy 40inch series 6.

I also have to cycle through all inputs when i hit the source button. I'd love to be able to get a list up when i hit source, would make things lots easier when swapping between xbox, ps3 or SkyHD. I dont think it can be done though

i have a 50in sammy series 4 i think, or 5
to scroll through the list i have to do this (LOL)
press menu
press up arrow once
press right arrow once (source list)
then up or down (to choose which one you want)

only the ones that have connections are highlighted
as for the hdmi, it dont autoswitch at all
but i DO have a dedicated HDMI button near the bottom of the remote which saves me doing all the above shit, seems to take ages to bring the hd device on when i press it though

Although not a cheap solution, an all-in-one remote control ie- Harmony remote is designed for just this.

Set up activities and with just one button press, it turns off anything you dont want, turns on anything you do and switches inputs automatically.

Eg:- Your playing PS3 with sound through audio system. Press "Watch TV" and the PS3 turns off, audio system turns off, Sky turns on, TV changes to correct source input.

I have the Harmony One and its excellent imo.
