Bot Posts

Ok couple of things I'd like to mention with regard to the bot posts.

Firstly could they be reviewed to ensure they are all posting from DF Bot, as there are certainly bot posts being posted from Raptor's account.
The reason I ask this is I can ignore DF Bot but I can't ignore Raptor!

Secondly what are the chances of Bot posts being in subsections?
I feel that the bot posts have killed off certain sections, as a lot of the stuff that gets posted is irrelevant, incomplete, or just plain crap and pushes down DF member created threads.
This way moderators could then move any interesting posts from the subsection to the main section.

Well the bot posts from Raptor are still posting shit all over the place.
Usually in the wrong sections and utter fucking tripe.
As I can't ignore Raptor, I find myself ignoring more and more sections, which is a shame really!

I don't understand bot posts: if there is an interesting or rich subject, a member will post about it.

It's very rare that a bot post will actually get replies and turn into a discussion.

You only have to look at the stats in bot posting heaving sections.
Fuck all views and fuck all replies.

It takes, what, a second to decide whether a thread is worth getting involved in?

I don't see the issue - if even 1% of bot posts provides a discussion, then mission accomplished. They're there to generate content, and as new user created threads are slow coming, I welcome them.

Also, don't ignore entire sections, just use the "New Posts" button!

I use the new posts button, the point being if i don't ignore the section and as i cannot ignore Raptor I still get the posts showing up in the New Posts results.

Its got nothing to do with Windows 7, so is in the wrong section and it's posted by Raptor so I can't ignore it.

1. Bot posts ARE in there own sections (except for a couple which are monitored such as the Xbox-Scene news feeds in the Microsoft Consoles Section)

2. 90% of bot posts are in the downloads and porn sections. Use it, Don't use it - makes no difference to me. I personally use those sections for vectors and graphics tools. and porn.

3. if a post is in the wrong place it gets deleted. You posting here moaning about it helps no one. What you do is click on the REPORT POST button and it gets dealt with. Help US to help YOU !

4. I have disabled any bots posting as me - any bots posting from now on is DF Bot only

5. What sections getting drowned out by bots ? There are only 2 sections that bots post in and thats Windows 7 news and Gadgets - and no fucker posts any new content in there ANYWAY. if not for the bots those sections would be dead - instead they generate activity. The bots work like an RSS news feed - they bring content where you wouldn't normally find it. It is setup for you to ignore also.

Hey genius - that's why they have their own sub sections - the downloads section has ALWAYS been bot run.

The Porn section has a human hosted forum (Jolly Wanker) and the sub sections are bot run and have always been bot run - over 350,000 Views.

And I count over 200,000 views for the bot run apps. Next time don't post utter shite

You can ignore the bot posts and I've already made a couple of tweaks mentioned previousley - so no one can complain now.

The bots sections are clearly marked and well known (downloadz sections / porn sections (except jolly wanker) / scene releases / tech & gadget news). They can be and always have been able to be ignored (there were some that posted as me - I've now fixed those - I have also removed 4 of them which were out dated)

biffo1 isnt a bot so no clue what you mean on that one m8 ?

as an extra I have created a members only bot free downloads sub forum in the VIP area if that satisfies you.

It wont do shit though becuase no one posted anything before - so NOTHING got spoiled in those particular sections - but its there if you wanna use it - I hope I get proved wrong.

if there is any other tweaks required let me know.
