Do gold plated Scart cables really make a big difference compaired to standard ones?

I was thinking of getting 2 for the Wii and my DVD player but am I wasting my money?

Yes they do but do go silly with amount spent, I spent 5 quid on a five meter gold plated one on amazon and it is loads better then the one in was using

i think on scart cables it does make a difference. i bought a flat QED one, and it miles better. i was using the cheapest of the cheap before that though

Well got a Mid-Range 24carot Gold plated scart and have just plugged it in and the big difference for me was in the sound quality,If im honest the picture is just a little tiny bit better.

My personal suspicion is the increase in quality will be due to better conductors/cable than the actual terminations/sockets.

But, there's probably a higher likelyhood the cables with gold plated connectors will have reasonable cable.

Naaaaaa its just a gimick in my mind and your better off saving ya money and keep whay ya got.
