change background on videos

hi peeps anyone know a program that i can use to change background on videos?

i have looked around and i know its simpler if the background in the video is blue or green but its not its all different colours and items in the background! so using chroma or whatever it is wont work! seen a few programs that profess to do it but the links to the downloads dont work or the program itself wont work!!

any ideas guys?

How long is the clip, you could always split the clip up into a series of images, and correct each image one by one, then put the whole lot back together as a video clip, re add your audio and you're done, will take a while but I think thats how its normally done. however there will be 30 still images for every second of film!

Yeah if its not a straight colour background (It doesn't matter what color, blue, green etc). But yeah, the only other way is frame by frame if you want a decent result.

Frame by frame is how it would be done professionally, In the newer star wars films the green screen kept reflecting onto C3PO's gold suit, so they had to remove the green off the suit frame by frame. It's a boring time consuming process, but gets the job done,

thanks guys! its a minute long so i guess were talking over a 1000 images!! hmm how bothered am i!!!

so which program would i use if i was to do it?

photoshop would do the job to edit the images.

I'd use premiere to extract the image sequence and to put it back together again, although I think photoshop extended CS4 and CS3 can deal with video files directly, although I've never used photoshop for video.

Oh and by the way your looking at more like 2000 frames
