im pretty sure its the leftovers from guiness production they use. Guiness yes, leave it at that. i reckon they were taking the piss when they first made marmite: if we heat this leftover crap we get a thick paste, lets c if we can sell it.

Cant stand the smell of it ...and i can smell it now being blown in the windows as i type....as it is made about 500metres away
