Default UPDATE --> nfo studio (nfo reader v2) is out GO GET IT NOW !

    ---UPDATE------UPDATE------UPDATE---
    ---UPDATE------UPDATE------UPDATE---
    ---UPDATE------UPDATE------UPDATE---

    http://www.acoders.com/acsite/download.asp?id=45

    grab the download now.

The viewer is much nicer than before, with settings and color theme font size etc.

The best part is the editor (a seperate app) that allows you to paint to an nfo file as if it were a canvas.

Anyway i dont think i will be making any updates for a while, but please email bugs to

    skn3ac@msn.com

    thanks for your time

finaly here are two screen shots

WEll, actually this is one of the few nfo viewers that displays the font the way i like it.
I spend many hours making ascii myself, and the program i use for viewing them other than in AcidDraw is BAFH's old nfo viewer.

I do have a few tips for u:
-I think the size of the thing is 78 characters wide atm.
U should change that to 79.
-I love fullscreen viewing, i dont like the window around it, just black is best.
-The blocks should be a little more like a square, although it is about right at the moment, unlike many other nfo viewers.
-The nfo dragging stuff is nice, but i'd like to have a file -> open option.
-I wouldnt integrate creation ability if i were u.
It wont be used by any real artists, they prefer AcidDraw, TheDraw, edit.com or notepad (yeh, weird, i know some great artists who are using notepad, incredible!)

Be sure to keep the black background and white characters, thats just the way ascii should be displayed.
Good luck with ur project, its good work

    Props - nice program

I agree with Dutch tho - you should change it to 79 or one more than what it is right now. Best of luck

good job. as said by others, it's not quite wide enough and a file-open feature would be nice. also, i think it would be nice to be able to resize vertically. personally i would love creation ability if done right. i know others love it, but i have never liked aciddraw and the likes. good luck and keep us posted.

    DAMN's nfoviewer is pure crap.
Blocks are too stretched, font looks fucked up, and there's too much bullshit in it.

oh i forgot you have to have brain to use that, sorry.
seriously, the font is great, the blocks are not too stretched and there arent too much bullshit in it.
i either use that or elitepad, but elitepad is stretching out everything far too much, so you have to be in the edit window to see everything normal.

haha, dude, i probably created more nfo's than u have seen in ur entire life, so who do u think knows best huh?
Exactly, I do. I don't like bragging, but if it comes to ascii, don't try to teach me anything...

Ok update for anyone that cares.
    100% finished the new viewer

This will be seperate from the creators as requested.
There is no point in bloating the viewer, but i will include as a seperate executable, the creation side .

Now there is a choice of 5 color themes, 3 font sizes, and it remembers all your settings and window size / position etc . I know all this is fairly basic stuff , but it is a whole lot nicer now

expect the download to be up in a day.

Here's a suggestion, try not putting out a new update too often with just minor updates to it.

bryan, you call a complete set of features and overhaul for the veiwer, + ascii designer, minor ??

i shouldn't have released the first version IMO, because this is far better.

bryan, here's a suggestion if its not cunstructive, dont say it.
