Here’s another announcement from CES 2010, this time from MSI which has unveiled its GX640 and GX740 gaming laptops.

According to the company, these are the first notebooks to be based on Intel’s Calpella platform, and come with the latest Core i5 processors.

This is backed up with cutting edge ATi Mobility Radeon HD graphics cards, meaning gamers should be able to play the latest shooters on the move with DirectX 11 visuals.

Not only will they look good, but they’ll sound good too, particularly the GX740 which will come with five built-in speakers to produce a virtual 3D sound. Quite how that’ll work, we’re not certain.

The included woofer surely can’t make much of a bass rumble? Not without unseating that precious Core i5 processor, anyway.

These thin and lightweight notebooks will be available from MSI in March, with prices starting at £999.
