that looks like it will do the job - as long as it folds. you cant put the back very upright on those benches though.

The problem I see with that one is that the uprights are too close together. This can cause major porblems when doing incline, flat or decline press. This one looks much better:

    Wider upright bench

I presume that you don't want the leg attachment because you don't intend training legs? A very unadvisable route to take but if you must, I think it can be simply unbolted.

Why are you so bothered about not having the leg extensions?

    May come useful!

This is one I can find without leg extensions, although it's a bit pricey.

I recently bought a set from Aldi by Crane Sports, I think they mainly trade on e-bay as I can't find a homepage. That bench came with leg and arm extensions, but it folds flat and was a great price

I have access to a small gym (within flat complex) the chest bits are shit, the legs bits are very good. SO i do not need that at home. I also cycle, my legs are far beyong any other part of my body.

That first one at £50 looks good. I cannot see the other at the moment as it is blocked at work for some reason. Would you mind posting a pic?

Edit: Won't be able to push past 140kgs though, which I am not far off, currently maxing 120kgs 4 to 6 reps on flat press.

Cheers for that. To be honest, that slooks damn good for the price.

The only other thing the gym is bad for is Back, i am doing traditional free weight lifts for that. Used to go to a gym before i mived that had a great peice of equipment for the back. Looks like this will even make my free weight back lifts more stabel as well.

Looking at the front ppiece (assuming for Curls) this shoudl be good for other things as well.

    Yeah thats looks very nice.

    Cheers, Q

    Yeah, it's for preacher curls.

What exercises do you do for your back routine?

I am currently living at a property where my gym is pretty make shift but I get by. I trained back last night as follows:

Seated pull downs on a Swiss ball using resistance bands with a door anchor, 5 sets (1 warm up of 20 reps, then 4 x 15 reps). I have 3 different level of strength resistance bands, for the last set I use two at once to give greater resistance.

Deadlift. Since my back injury I am still not going too heavy on deadlift, a warm up of 15 reps 20kgs, then 5 sets of 15 reps increasing the weight slowly to 50kgs.

Bent over row, 4 sets of 15 reps

One armed row, 4 sets of 10 reps each arm.

My point being that I can still do a good back workout with minimal equipment:
    Resistance bands + door anchor
    Swiss ball
    Barbell
    Dumbell
    Flat bench.

I sometimes spin the pad around the other way and you can lay over it for dorsal raises. Neat huh?

THanks, we have a ball in the gym but not sure how to use it. I have just done a web search and seen some nice tips. SO i can make a start in using this as well.

I made a good start some time back and hten just seemed to stop for no reason what so ever. I am stupid not to use somethign on my door step and the fact i pay for it in the service charge (as wel all do). I very rearly see anyoen in there, and when there are it is mums trying thier best. But they dont come in if someone is there. So it is practically like a personal gym.

Got go go back again and stop pissing around.

    Cheers.....Q

Cunning, I would never have given that a thought.

How wide apart are the barbell supports? Only problem with it is it only says it supports up to 95kg.

Not sure I'll be benching any more than that, I thought if I got a heavier weight set I could have plates on the dumbells without having to keeping adding/changing etc.

How much do people here bench?

Word to that. Pretty much what I've done, kitted the barbell, leg and arm extensions with a decent "base" weight so when it comes to adding more you don't have to piss around taking them from elsewhere.

Nothing much really, about 75-80. I'll go higher once my brother gets his arse in gear and comes over to spot me

If I am going heavy (as opposed to higher reps, lighter weight sessions) then:
    Flat press-
    Warm up 40kgs 15-20 reps
    1st working set 60kgs 12-15 reps
    2nd set 80kgs 12 reps
    3rd sets 100kgs 10 reps
    4th sets 120kgs 4-6 reps.

40 here but i know am a skinny bastard and with training i can obviously improve but its going to take a long time to get to any stage that i am happy with.

i have a gym membership but they use all these fancy gizmo machines that are too fancy and look like they will take forever to setup and by that point ya cant be fsckin arsed...but i'll have to just stick at it until something better comes along
