Default "Got to Dance" vs "So you think you can dance"

Right, first of all, I'm a sucker for all these audition type reality shows. Feel free to take the piss, as far as I'm concerned, there are worse things to be into (cough* Big Brother fucking drivel *cough)....

I watched the first weekend of the 2 new dance shows above, and presuming they have been scheduled in competition intentionally, there is only 1 winner. I first watched SYTYCD on BBC1 and if anyone remembers "Fame Academy" (which was put to shame by "Pop Idol" in the same year), it was worse than that, infinitely worse... I don't think I've watch anything as cringe worthy in a long time! Nigel Lithgoe should stay behind the fucking camera as he's appauling in front of it.

On the other hand GTD it's actually quite good. It's a hell of a lot more polished than it's rival show and the judges have a little more pedigree in the dance arena. I'm quite enjoying it. It's very much in the style of Britains Got Talent and Davina McCall isn't the greatest host in the world but that doesn't detract very much.

Anyone else watching or am I the only sad bastard?

You're not the only sad bastard. I watched GTD last week, and found it quite amusing! However ..... one comment you make I have to catch you up on. Pedigree of the judges? I suggest you check the pedigree of Lythgoe and Phillips, because its far higher than the judges on GTD. Not seen SYTYCD so can't comment on the show though

Yes, you're right, bad choice of words. I meant public respect (Lythgoe is a mutually hated cunt and Phillips lost cred when she was replaced on Strictly by Dixon.

    I know what I meant
