A bit of advice for people with Condenser Boilers

I Have had 3 call outs this weeks for Condenser Boilers not working with all the same problem. Yesterday i went to a job and the 2 year old Worcester Bosch (standard Boiler) was making gurgling bubling noises. The problem was that the white condensing pipe that runs from the boiler to the outside had frozen so the boiler couldnt extract any more water. The quick remedy was to defrost the pipe with a hair dryer and lag it so it wont freeze again.
So anyone that had a white plastic pipe running from your boiler to a drain, get it lagged if its cold enough for it to freeze otherwise you might have an expensive call out

We had the same problem (but different symptoms) after getting a new Vaillant condensing combi fitted a few years ago - Eventually we worked out that the main breaker on our consumer unit was tripping out early most freezing cold mornings leaving us with no leccy - turned out thats what the problem was - since we lagged the outlet/overflow pipe we've had no more trouble with it

Theres been loads of people phoning me up saying that there boiler has stopped working, and all of them have been frozen condense pipes.
