In office 2007 the default font is "Calibri", if you write a document in that font and send it to someone who ends up opening the document in an earlier version of word the replacement font it selects is "Comic Sans".
Either change font or save the document as a pdf when sending.
Found about because a mate of mine wrote some audit reports for another mate and sent them over, when we were all together the guy who recieved them asked why on earth he would write professional reports using comic sans and the other guy was swearing blind he didnt. When he went home he typed the font into google and apparently there are a lot of complaints about the fact it converts to comic sans.
What I found even funnier is that he has sent his CV to a few agencies using the Calibri font, they would have opened them and seen the whole CV written in comic sans font.
Hope this is useful to some of you.
