Default win 7 home premium iso's on usenet safe or not??

    hi

just bought a new 1810tz acer netbook thats come with win7 64 bit home premium pre installed.

i use firefox with quite a few addons as my browser, i didn't realsie till i tried to download firefox 64 that there isn't actually and official version that woorks on win7 64.

also apparantly there are probs with playing flash on x64 browsers.

anyway, since i can't live without my addons and i don't like chrome or ie i'm going to install win7 home premium x86 instead, as the legit key i have on the base will apparantly activate a 32 bit install.

my question is, how safe are the iso's tat are on the ng's? are they ok to use or am i going to be installing all kinds of hidden shite??

    cheers for your time

An x64 OS can still run x86\32-bit apps. Just download the 32-bit firefox, it will work fine.

    I use win7 x64, no issues

They run just fine on my firefox - using Win7 Ultimate x64 no problems at all with any of the addons I have tried. Is there one in particular you have tried that doesn't work?

Also I have had a few diff versions of win7 from usenet no probs with any of them so far.

Confirmed, I have Firefox 32-bit running fine on my Windows 7 64-bit system. All bells and whistles working fine. Redtube, Youporn etc running fine

Just download the ISO and then check the hash codes:

    Windows 7 codes are:

    MD5: D0B8B407E8A3D4B75EE9C10147266B89
    SHA-1: 5395DC4B38F7BDB1E005FF414DEEDFDB16DBF610

Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (English, Retail, 64 Bits)

    MD5: F43D22E4FB07BF617D573ACD8785C028
    SHA-1: 326327CC2FF9F05379F5058C41BE6BC5E004BAA7

hang on maybe i'm being a biff (as usual), i couldn't get it to install originally, so had a google and it came up with a load of sites saying that you could only install the minefield version on 64 bit windows.

but i've just tried to install it again (downloaded from a different site) and its now working fine?? weird...
