pmr question

bought 2 cobra mt 110 pmrs other day bit disapointed with the range output,never 2 miles as quoted is there anyway to boost the range of them,any help welcome as to how to diy or to get it done by someone. ps used to be on the cb about 4 years ago tried to set it up last week but couldnt hear anything have they changed frequencys? cheers lads

Hardly anyone uses CB in my part of wales any more m8, The channels remain the same though.

Nothing much can be done to increase the output of these little 446 pmr's m8,,, when they state 2 miles,, that is the distance in line of sight without any obstuctions,, buildings etc,,

Hi

A m8 removed the little rubber duck antenna on his and fitted a bnc socket. He now can use higher gain antennas which helped improve the range on both rx and tx.

Obviously your warranty goes out the window though!
