Help What to replace a HD2 with?

    Hi all,

Well I gave the HD2 a chance, it's not for me, (see my previous thread for the iPhone vs HD2 comparison), the 3GS is far superior and this phone, no matter which ROM I try has too many issues to put up with it on a daily basis.

So i'm on the hunt for something new, what could satisfy me without going back to the iPhone? I don't really keep up with mobile tech tbh so looking for some recommendations. I've already had a HTC Hero which was ok, but again, suffered from just not being as good as the iPhone 3GS.

So what else is there out there to try?

    Many thanks

The satio does look tempting it must be said, a particulary good camera on that thing. Don't know much about the n900 though, not used a nokia since the n95 so will have to go see what's new!

The below won it for me..

    YouTube- SNES on n900

It hasn't dropped in value like the n97 did upon launch :@

Ah now that is nice! Will definitely look into that, hope it's got better exchange support (i.e subfolders) than my old n95 had.

    Thanks mate.

I'm personally waiting for HTC Bravo - which basically is HTC HD2 but with Android OS.

Got to say I have an n900 and its fucking mint, I usee it for voip mainly, already have 3 numbers set up on it, the skype/gmail integration is excellent.

The web browsing is top notch, firefox release updates every week more or less.

The apps are slowly coming out and the keyboard is an easy learning curve.

Its a different market to the iphone and any other phone as it aims to be more of an internet tablet first then phone. Only problem so far is no gps software and document viewer but that will all change.

Well today's the day, I've thrown my HD2 on eBay and decided I'm going to go back to the iPhone (yes, I've tried a looooad of different HD2 roms).

The reasons why I didn't get on with the HD2

    1) Browsing on the thing isn't as intuitive as the iPhone, pinch/zoom is painfully laggy and i was forever trying to find iPhone specific URL's to make stuff look better on it.

    2) If you synch to your car stereo with bluetooth for handsfree & audio, you have to re-synch audio every single time you get into the car, a real pain in the arse. It syncs the voice fine, but audio over bluetooth seems to always be disabled by default.

    3) Games, I may not play them a lot on the phone but it's good to know they're there on the iPhone, they mostly suck on WiMo.

    4) Stability, the iPhone never crashed, period, Wimo on the other hand, well, get used to doing resets

    5) podcasts, the only audio i really listen to on phone are podcasts and iTunes makes it so much easier, it knows what i've listened to and deletes them. I tried beyondpod on wimo which worked really well but had a few annoying things (like clicking on a podcast would always by default go it's web feed, not the podcast). And being able to listen to podcasts on iPhone at 1.5x and 2x speed is great when you've got a load to get through

    6) It's just too big

    7) Despite the higher megapixel rating, the camera isn't as good as the iPhone one.

The thing i'll miss is the screen, it's a stunning high-res screen, but that's not enough to save it tbh.
