    I have a problem.

I changed the view in movies to the wallpaper view from the one where the movies are at the bottom. Now everytime I go into movies, XBMC crashes and goes to a Terminal window.

How can I change it back, as I can't enter movies to do it from there?

I am going to install the windows version so I have a working XBMC, then I will try self-teach linux (with help from you lot I'm sure ). I will use my Live partition as a project partition, then when I have learnt what I need to I will start from a fresh Live install. What is the downside of using Windows rather than Linux? I thought it was VDPAU which offloads a lot of processing to the ION GPU leaving a lot of CPU power free.

vdpau is only supported in linux atm matey, if windows was an option i'd be using it myself.

they're working on a new version of xbmc now which is going to contain a whole host of new features, hoepfully this'll beone of em.

Anybody want to sell their wireless keyboard and mouse, or if not really using it much, swap for my wired set?

Just for info, I purchased Ebay item 250377811288 to use with my Revo, and I can advise it works brilliantly, and at under a fiver, is excellent vfm. The remote works perfectly on XBMC Live, simulates both the cursor keys / enter, and the mouse + left and right clicks.

i did this initially but then found it a pain to do a fresh install of xbmc when a newer version comes out as there didnt seem to be an install option that didnt want to format my HDD (which was full of movies). Thats why i ended up isntalling XBMC to a 2gig SD card but now i have to change some settings to get it to see the internall HDD, which I havnt got round to yet.

easy to update to the latest svn using the script that me and maltloaf have linked to matey, just overwrites your old version whilst maintaining all your settings and media etc.

ah rite, just looked at my winscp and i connect on port 22, then the host is whatever the ip address is of your ion system, you can find this out from within xbmc in system or something along those lines, it depends on the skin.

What type of connection are you using mate? If it's active, try passive, or the other way round.. I know active and passive can cause issues on the client or server side with firewalls blocking certain ports etc.. seems to be hit and miss when I'm using an ftp app to which one works properly.

I've bought a USB DVD drive. Actually it's an xbox360 hddvd £16 delivered.

Anyhows, in xbmc live it plays DVD movie discs just fine, I was just wondering if there was any way of adding a USB DVD rom as a source for other video files ? I will have a play with mounting etc. When I get home, I just thought I'd ask if anyone knows any tricks

    Cheers,
