    System Resources!!!

I cannot beleive the amout of people that are SERIOUSLY slowing their PC's down by having so MUCH crap starting up on their PC's!!! All you should really have in your system tray is your Virus Protection and your volume control, everything else should be loaded IF and when needed! Having loads of programs running in the background SERIOUSLY wastes system resources / clock cycles!

Why be fussy about programs running in the background when you've got a huge bitmap or a small jpeg and resource devouring web content enabled? If I need those extra clock cycles for anything but what is in my system tray I can simply right click them and close them down.

You're the one who is wasting system resources. Your PC is ALWAYS processing something. If you're processor is running at 6% usage the other 94% is processing NOP cycles. Why process nothing when you could be processing something? Idle time is wastage....

    The beauty of multitasking.....

    What-ever!

I do a LOT of DVD, BF and number crunching so my computers need to be as fast as possible!! That desktop .bmp is only 600k and I most certainly DO NOT have web content enabled! You guys keep your system trays FULL of shit that you probably hardly ever use all the time and I'll keep it nice and empty so that my PC's use the full amount of system resources on the programs that I am ONLY using!! lol

    2 AntiVirus.
    1 NetMeeting.
    3 Novell Netware Utilities.
    1 Volume Control.
    1 Network Connection Status.
    1 FTP Server.
    1 Instant Messenger.

All pretty essential for a Network Admin.

You wanna get hold of McAfee AntiVirus. It's got the fastest system scanning engine on the market and you'd see a visible increase in system performance if you use real-time system scanning.
Go here for a beginners guide to locking-down non-essential XP/2000 system services. This will help you get a few more milliseconds of processor power out of your PC.
For another extra boost goto your task manager and right click your CPU sucking DVD program and set the priority to high. Your PC will devote even more milliseconds to your 'Power Apps'

As for BF I can only assume you mean Butt-F_cking, can't see why you're computer would need as fast as possible for that, but if you say it's true then it must be.....
