Does anybody know if there is a cable that would allow me to connect both a cdrom and cdrw to a soundcard (ie a splitter cable)? If not could I do it myself without damaging any of the equipment?

On most soundcards there is more than one connector anyway, usually marked as AUX, which acts the same as the CD in. If you've got a fairly new soundcard that uses digital audio, you don't need the cable under most circumstances anyway, you just need to set, say, Media Player to extract digitally.
Thanks for the response I don't even know whsat sound card it is (2 year old PC) but my mate says he can't see any other connectors to plug into.
You know there IS a cable which uses the CD audio in port on sound card with split ends so u can connect 2 devies to it (example 2 cd roms) i got one with my PACE TV/RADIO card ages ago. Dont use it tho
Thanks for the advice guys this problem is now sorted by using media player instead of AOL (why does anybody use AOL?) and plugging the speaker leads into the right holes for the guy!!!
