Is it cheaper to get lenses separately perhaps different manufacture? Not amazingly fussed by this, but only if it will make a big difference.

"Canon EOS 50D 17-85mm IS + 70-300mm IS Twin Kit" will cover it for what you need. Add a flash, some CF cards, a bag, a tripod and you're set...

Buying lenses from the likes of Sigma or Tamron will get you them cheaper, but at a trade off in quality (not by much though)...

Sigma lenses are generally more bang for your buck, the very top end canon lenses cannot be touched but at mid range, you will usually get a better lens for the money if you go for sigma. There are of course bad lenses from any manufacturer so always do your research, there is no shortage of sites reviewing camera gear.

Cant vouch for LJs link, but the same kit is here from one of the biggest camera shops on the net.

ive had a quick look about and there inst really a sigma/50D package that compares with that, assuming the 2 lenses are good ones. Its about 200 quid more for comparable kit and the 24-70 I included isnt image stabilized. splash the cash baby!

    Cheers guys!

I got a package (steady) and with the link above to hire lenses, this is a great little deal.

I broke my budget somewhat, but got a nice little opener. I can grab a flash in a few months, still a long way before the wedding and review perhaps another lense to hire as well.

Will revisit and hand out some apprieciation. I have had a lot of help and guidance. It has shaped my pruchase and enabled me to move forward.

    Cheers.......Q
