i have just bought a dreamcast for £10 with vanishing point but i wont to play backups what do i need to boot them i have never bean into this i have ps2 which i have chiped do i need a chip or boot disc i tryed search but just got a head acke can some one help please?
you don't any chip to play backups on a dreamcast,
most games are self booting which means you just put the game in and turn on your dc
some older games require a boot disc
with this you just put the boot disc in and turn on your dc when the boot disc has loaded you just swap it for your backup
hope this helps
you can download the bootdisc from http://www.megagames.com
The dreamcast can also play snes , nes , sega mastyer system , game gear , atari 2600 ,Coleco , Mame , etc games using emulators. Theres also free mp3 players aswell .

The concept of the boot-disc is much better then to actually modify your DC by adjusting it's hardware. Your DC will have a much longer life by doing so.
There are a lot of programs out there which will enhance the DC.
Use Parodius DiscJuggler to burn these programs.
