HD video camcorder - any recommendations?

Hi all

Do any of you guys have video cams as well? I'm looking to get a cheap hd camcorder to lug around as well as the DSLR. I'm after something quite small, that uses memory cards or internal hard drive rather than tapes or dvd's, i'm not looking to make Spielberg epics just to something capture those family moments a that my 40d can't help with.

I've searched around and not found any insightful reviews or recommendations. I'm wondering if people can give me some of their views or tips.

canon hf200 is a very nice camera.
Just under £500 though.
