screwed up my ms dashboard playing splinter cell beta game

at the splinter cell menu i acdently pressed online download button. know i can't get acess to ms dashbord, but i still can play games. my Q is that is there any way i can get ms dashboard back.

Try using a backup of the dashboard you should have made.

Another option would be to call Microsoft and tell them that you where playing a leaked beta of a tobe block buster game and it screwed up your dash.
But, chances are, they would charge you the full price of a XBox to fix it.

I too tried to use XBOX Live with EvoX installed and screwed up my XBOX. But its not the end of the world. Here's how I fixed my M$ dash. Try this:

+ Look on the net for a CompleX release of the M$ dash (cpx-4627.rar) Unless your not an idiot like me and have your own backup of your C:\ drive, in that case use your own.

+ Burn EvoX (make sure to edit the ini with your own network settings)

+ Boot from the DVD/CD-RW

+ Delete your ENTIRE C:\ drive.

+ FTP all the files from the cpx-4627.rar to your C:\ drive.

+ Rename xboxdash to msxboxdash, copy the EvoX dash and ini to C:\

+ DONE!

first i don't have evx. installed in my computer and no live kit install in my xbox, though, i was selected for beta and i got my xbox live kit few days ago but i didn't install it,

so you guys are saying that i can get evx. and then get ms dashboard from somewhere and deleate c drive of my xbox then put ms dashboard that i will get from somewhere and rename it ms dasbboard and i will be done. right

Over at the xbox-scene forums someone posted how to fix this and not do it again.

1) boot evox from a cdrw and ftp into the xbox
2) copy the original msdashboard onto the c:\
3) boot up the online/live disc and select online
4) after doing that, then you can put evox back on the harddrive


Supposedly the live discs and when you select online for the games they write a little tag to the original MS dash. If it don't find the MS dash it don't know what to tag and deletes the dash that is being used. To get future online games to work and avoid this in the future, replace the evox dash with the MS dash and then after running the live disc/online game (only have to do it once) you can ftp back into the box and put the evox dash back.

say i dont have evox isntalled to my xbox can i put the live disc in with out any problems.....

do have to replace you whole HD or cant you just replace the original ms dash and then put in the evox dash

This What u guys should do for further reference,

first off flash ur bios with evox2.5ybox bios.

then name ur evox xboxdash to yboxdash.

then name ur msxboxdash to xboxdash

then u guys dont have to worry about games fuckn up ur xboxdash cause u will be now bootn from yboxdash.
