I have this wierd sound bug in mafia, part of the music and voices are played twice as fast as normal, it sounds like smurf voices! Does anyone else has this problem? How do I solve it??

check the forums, theres a solution to it, i'm not sure what it is, but its soundcard related, either drivers, or acceleration.
I read somewhere that the Mafia soundtrack was going to include some hit classics from "The Smurfs Go Pop" and "Go Pop Again" Albums
I only had a smurf voice problem once in IWD2, but in none other game.
Run dxdiag, click on the sound tab, and move the hardware acceleration to off, that will fix the chipmunk voices.
Not only did moving the acceleration to none fix my chipmunk voice problem, but the guns sound more real too.
It's actually boom boom boom boom boom, instead of bap bap bap bap bap now
fixed it!! and i thought that chipmunk sound was normal.. thanks for the tip!
there was a smurf in my bathroom one time..but that's a long story..
