    Default Gameshark Dongle Broken?

Hey, i have a GS2, v1.93 and when i boot the disk, it freezes at the Gameshark splash screen. When i boot the PS2 without the dongle, it says "Insert Hardware". When i insert dongle, it freezes again..has anyone experienced this?

That happened with my friends Action Replay. He just bought a new AR, swaped the dongles, and took it back and got the cash back.

    Easy to fix boys.

All you gotta do is hold down L1, L2, R1, R2, select, and start during the loading screen. At the end of the loading screen, a window will popup saying "Resetting gameshark to factory default settings." This should stop your dumb gameshark dongle from freezing up.

I've had this problem before and was about to return it when I found out this trick through sheer luck. Besides using it to swap, the gs2 is plainly a piece of crap.

One of my friends had the same problem. He moved the GameShark dongle while the PS2 was on and it stopped working. He tried to push it in a bit since he thought it wasn't fully in and it froze on him. Anyways, never move or remove the dongle while the PS2 is on. I know a mod chipper that has a bunch of screwed up dongles just because they were removed while the PS2 was on. The newer GameSharks (I think v2 and up) don't need the dongle though, just the CD.
