I heard from a reliable source that our friend the 'Brick' will be available at £99 for 3 weeks running up to xmas to stimulate sales.
If that's true then I'll be buying one if only to play the emulators on!

Any idea when this offer will begin?
cheers
Will it be the original xbox? or a 'new' version, thats gonna need a new mod?? I wonder!!!
My mate gets the gaming trade magazine MCV and he was telling me that there was an article saying that another price drop may occur just before Xmas so you never know! I hear that Sony are also planning a drop aswell just before Xmas too so looks like we could be in for a bargain-tastic festive season!
OOOPS I JUST SOLD 10 XBOX'S FOR 75 QUID EACH , A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GONNA BE RELLY P1SSED OFF LOL
I think they are dropping it to £99 for the 3 weeks leading up to xmas

it makes sence that they would sell the new one instead of the old one and they may recall the old ones. (from the shops)
It may be worth getting one and wait for a new mod which will no doubt be out by christmas, you could flog it chipped for £200, i just got to learn to solder :0(
They wont recall the old ones mate - the new release of the xbox is a hardware revision to lower the cost of the boxes manufacture - the fact that the chips dont work is a bonus for MS - any change in the motherboard layout will immediately stop mods from being able to be fitted but it wont be long until they will be changed or a possible they chips will still work but have to be solidered in different points. Sony did this serveral time during the life of the PS1.
Cos MS is not primarly doing this to stop the pirates they wont want the loss revenue from the recalling for thousands of Xboxes.
Cheers

they are probly doing it to get rid of the old (currently moddable) stock
