    Default tosh bios password

    i have just got a very old sattellite 230cx and just made car adaptor for it as i had no supply and it comes up it comes up with bios password, i have no floppy and no cdrom so can i get round this or is it no good, does not boot to windows just black screen and password

    help help please

    There's a password dongle that unlocks the password. There's diagrams of it all over the web, or you can get one from Ebay for about £15.

    Yeah a parallel loopback connection, they are a bitch to solder. Try Ebay dude.

    cheers will try to make it if i can find the diagrams shouldn't be to hard i am used to soldering but does this have to stay in all the time or once u do it does it foget about the password

    It bypasses the password so you can enter BIOS and set your own etc.

    This is the one i used to use

    You need a 25pin male adaptor and connect all the following

    1-5-10
    2-11
    3-17
    4-12
    6-16
    7-13
    8-14
    9-15

    Then plug it into the pararell port and switch the laptop on and off.

    It should be cleared then.

    cheers i made the dongle and it worked a treat just one more thing how do i change reg user in windows system propeties.

    sorry but i am a bit thick doing these sort of things
