Any advice for Internet Protection programmes for kid on windows xp

as the titles says i am looking to get some software prefrably free to protect my kids from the internet. But i dont mind paying for the software if it comes recommended.

I think all filtering software is pay for because it needs updating daily. Stuff like NetNanny works well although it used to ban sites like WWF wrestling which I though was OTT. I assume you can set the level of security so it just bans all adult sites.
