Just don't panic is the main tip. Also have your test in rush hour (like I did) and spend most of your time in traffic!

Hmm, not really rush hour. I would suggest having a spliff before hand - but you might not smoke (and that might not be the best advise for most people, but it definatly helped me)!

    lol @ having a spliff

Best to keep looking in the mirrors, they love it, even if you dont have to.

    Stay away from parked cars.

I failed first time because of driving too close to parked cars, although I was pissed I failed, I am happy now cause now I know I am a better driver

Good luck, best advice is to just keep your cool. Concentrate on the road & driving, pretend he aint there. Have faith!

Damn good advice, make sure the examiner can see your head move when you look in your mirrors, and use all 3 of em too (Mirrors, not heads).

Best advice I can give is just relax, it's just a driving test - it's not like you'll die if you don't pass, although I'm sure you will, most drivers pass 2nd time.

Good luck m8, let us know how you get on.

oh yeah I forgot. Don't worry if you stall the car, that isnt a fail, just dont panic if it happens - it happened to me and i managed to pass

i'll keep this short for xdam

1)move your mirrors so you have to move your head to get a decent view, that way the examiner sees you checking your mirrors

    2) before your test park the car next to the curb, make a line of sight on your car to line up (from seated inside the car) the curb, some easy to see part of your bonnet and then put a third mark low down on your windscreen. any time you line up those three points again you know you are correctly parked, its great for reverse around corner and parking (i used the curb, the line between the bonnet and the front wing and a edge of a stamp stuck on the dash so it reflected up onto the screen)

hope thats not too long m8

sorry, was tryint to make it as short as poss.

    2) for this trick you need to park your car correctly next to the curb, then sit in the drivers seat. now look towards the curb, follow the line of the curb untill it matches up with some point on your car (ie when you look at that point on your car you see the curb) now put a third mark on your windscreen so all three line up (mark, part of car & curb) that means that whenever those three marks are lined up again your car is parked paralel to the curb and he correct distance out, i cant draw, but i'll go have a bash in paint and see what i can manage, back soon

Excellent points about making sure the examiner can see you looking in the mirrors.

Relax, drive normally, I know you will be nervous, but try to remain alert and safety concious.

Don't pull out if someone flashes you, just wait until they go past.
If they insist on waiting, really be cautious about moving off, check that nothing is likely to hit you when you pull out.

Enjoy it, drivings fun, and you should enjoy the drive. If you can do this you will be relaxed, and you will drive better...!

    Good luck matey

it does work, give it a couple of trials before your test and you will see what i mean, i've been driving almost 24 years (legaly) and i still cant park straight, but i did it perfect on my test
