    recommends ??? help

Well call me an old fart but I am going back to Biking at 41yrs Looks like doing a 5 day DAS.

Got quote which includes Bike and gear plus guaranteed pass at no extra cost

    2 questions

    1) How much should I pay for 5 day course ?

    2) What do you recomend for a first bike ( needs to be cheap enough too)

Down here in london its around the £500 mark for a 5 day course.
But your a bit further north, so ring round.

As for your first bike... you pays your money and takes your choice.
If you want cheap but fun, its gotta be a bandit.
Pay a bit more and have more fun on a fazer.
Go fully faired and sporty with a cbr.
What are you gonna use the bike for? commuting, A weekend scratch, long distance touring? The choice is hhhuuuuugggggeeee!

But whatever you do, have fun and be safe

    Try a Honda Transalp.
Nice bike, Sit up style riding.
Will do mega miles, reliable as most Hondas if serviced.
Great town or open road bike.

How about a SV650 - voted the number one first bike by Ride. Easy to ride, cheap insurance and quick off the blocks.

Good luck mate, I did a 5 Day DAS and it is hard work!!
Its amazing how much you will ache as its a 'unusual' position sitting on a motorbike if you've never done it before!

Excellent fun though Remember to enjoy it and don't panic about the test, the examiners are cool people, unlike the car test examiners

    woah! thats a suprise!!
It must be that the cool ones move on to bike examining, where the anal ones stay with cars

    Nice one mate!
The bigger bikes feel so much more nicer than a little 125.. Makes you feel like your on a 'proper' bike

What a day on Sat rain put me off big time, instructor was a harsh as hell & F**ked up big time with all the mistakes you could make in morning then after about 5 fags on the trot rode like I was merged with the machine.
