    Default Modem uncapper?????

    is there really such a thing that can make your modem pick up a little extra speed????if so can somebody direct me to it?

    cable modems yes, adsl/dialup connections are no no's

    if u wanna uncap its your own rissk and you need a motorola surfboard...

    If you are talking about the software that was going around that claimed to uncap your connection then forget it, it's nothing more than a trojan.
    Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
    Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
    Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
    Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

    You may get a little extra performance by tweaking the MTU, tcp recieve windows, etc, there are various apps that do this. This can usually be applied to most type of connections.

    If you have a dial up modem using PPP, try turning on/off compression and error checking, you may notice a difference.
