    Default help to format second drive

    Hi I have an old pc which only had 500 mb hard drive so I fitted a second drive a 1.8gb I seem to have it set up ok as master and slave the pc knows its there and the drives show up a c and d and I can see whats in the new drive,but when I go to format the drives all I can format is c when I try to format d I get the message that there is no d ,can someone tell me how I can format both these drives ,the orginal drive has win 98 the second drive has win me installed ,I want to get rid of this and use win 98 ,any help please

    Run 'fdisk' change to the second drive (drive 1) and partition the HD if there is no partition you cant format it.

    thanks for your reply,I did run fdisk earlier just to make sure the second drive was reconised ,didn't make any changes but it showed the 1.8gb drive as no 2 ,I will do as you say.thanks a lot
