Have had some bad news my end. I've been removed off the internal trail apparantly because they are looking for people with a certain broadband profile. I guess I fall into a category that is too large and they are looking for people with smaller bandwidths to try it out
They did tell me that they may put me back on the trial in a few weeks though - gutted.

I just signed up and got straight in via my mac..graphics aint great and theres a bit of lag with controls (im on 4mb down 1mb up)
I can't proceed beyond the start because of 'high latency'.
Just signed up, had a quick go and i must admit im impressed it told me my latency was to high and connection to slow, im using Be and get 4meg but even so it worked well the controls seemed a little slugish but the games are still playable, if they get a uk data centre i could see it working well, put it this way im not selling my 360 any time soon...
VIP WOOP !
I cant get an im on virgin 50mb connection
signed up and cant get on it-said i had poor line and not good speed
it wont be as good as my ps3 or 360-sorry they can cope with my 10mbit line speed

Just keep getting an unexpected error
I get 14Mbs and it cant handle that
It has nothing to do with having a bad line. It's because the onlive.com servers are currently based in the US so there is a lot of latency. You could have a gigabit line over here but if your ISP is not peered well to the US it will not be that playable. Once they put the servers in the UK it will not be an issue.

I signed up for this Onlive and i see it becoming very useful.
I used to get most of my PC games through steam and tbh still do. The problem with steam is that its a no refund service you bought it you got it no changing your mind.
Civ 5 cost like £50 i played it for 3 days and lost interest.
With online u can buy a 3 day access to a game for like $6/8 i think try it and make a decision after that. This i like. Beats the alternative which is to download an entire game try it and then realise you dont like it.
I think this would be cool for multiplayer games where you have to connect to the internet anyway, especially as you would then all have the same machine and be on the same lan, but for single player stuff its potentially quite pointless. Especially if you live in a house with a few other people, as soon as another PC is turned on im sure the game would suffer loads from network issues, especially on shitty wireless setups.
I've just moved to a new place and am STILL waiting on an internet connection because there is no phone line installed and that's been almost 2 months now. It would kinda suck not being able to play any games if this was your only console and you were in a similar situation.
Also if the company does fail / go out of business then you have got nothing to show for it at the end.

I've got this working at home now and its works fine even streaming from the US its playable i'llbe getting it when they have a UK server its so cool being able to play on my PC then jump on my work craptop and play the same game at the same speed
You rekon I'll be able to play with my 200kb/sec internet connection?
