Nokia Unlocker Q's?

HI guys
I was thinking of purchasing one of those DCT3/DCT4 nokia unlocking clips!

the main reason for purchase is to unlock my 8310 from virgin PAYG.

Can someone please tell me what the difference is between a sim unlocking or security lock resetting?

it says on the clip schematics that only the security lock is reset on the 8310 - not sure if this is what i need.

The security lock is the one to stop access to the phone. The clip will just reset that to the factory default (12345) and also open the 4 service provider locks (opening it to all networks)

So if you want to unlock the phone to all networks then it's ok, but you can get free software and buy a datacable which will work out cheaper unless you want to unlock other Nokias.

If I'm wrong someone will put me right.
