Default Nvidia Detonators freezing parents machine

Maybe you could help me solve this problem.

    Parents machine:

    PII 800
Creative Geforce DDR 32MB (Annihilator Pro)
Motherboard - will have to check

For some strange reason the computer will loads windows and then freeze randomly (requiring a reset) if any Detonator drivers older than th 28.xx ones are installed.

I'm guessing that the newer drivers have enabled features that this card just doesn't like, thus freezing up.

They can live with the old drivers but it would be nice to have the latest shit on there.

Anyone know what the feck is going wrong?

Win XP Pro and I've tried every official release from nvidia.com since the 28.xx version.

well again uninstall the video drivers and re-install them....this might sound stupid but its important....
did you download the right os drivers????like...win 98, win 2k,xp,so on and so forth????

if none of this works...im afraid it might be time for a format.....ooooo......i hate saying that word.

Have done all you say. In fact I only just recently reformatted their hard drive and installed everything from fresh.
Yup, correct driver for the OS.

I'll just have to accept the problem and put it down to the build of the machine conflicting with the newer drivers. Like I said all they use it for is surfing the net, word processing and (I'm proud of this one) downloading mp3s. My dad's getting a right earful from my mother about being obsessed with mp3s now. lol!
