Purple BulkPaq r2

Quiet a few people have recommended these DVDr's for Xbox backups, I have got some and tried to burn Starwars Ep2 DVD to them using a Image I know that works (as I have burned 2 versions on Neo DVDR's and 1 on TDK DVDRW that are fine) all at X 1 speed using Primo.

The burns complete OK and the DVD Menus are OK and the movie play until 1/2 way through when they stop and are F**Ked basically. Also tried to play these in my DVD player and the Xbox - both fail at the same point.

I repeated this process again on another Bulkpaq purple - same problem.

Has anyone else used these for DVD movies (not VCD) and had any problems? I havent Tried an Xbox title yet so I dont know good there are for them yet ?

I have done both DVD movies & XBox games and they seem fine, I'm using Primo and like you doing them at 1X. My writer is the Vivastar DVD-R/RAM drive (pana LFD-311).

I've used about 75 of these over the past weeks and had the odd duffer, but generally they have been fine.

The DVD Player's I have used are X-Wave 900 and Pioneer 444.

Just my ten cents....

Don't work for me - Pioneer A03, Primo 1x. They burn ok but my xbox doesn't like them.

mine loves them to bits they work in it all the time, and they even work in my VERY picky ps2 aswell

Work fine for me - video discs, xbox, and ps2 (v5)

My xbox dosent like burned movies on them tho but I believe this is a mastering problem (or just the xbox being crap

- they work fine on my ps2 and with windvd 4.

DVR104 1.30, using Nero/Prassi/GEAR

Thanks Guys,

I appreciate the responses. I will do some more testing made I got unlucky with the 2 disks I used. The Burner is a pioneer 104 with the lastest firmware patch for the x4 disk problem on it.

The X-Wave has always liked DVD-R, if I recall, the only discs it didnt like were unbranded Vivastars, which seemed to stutter about half-way thru the movie.... I have no probs with the new Bulkpaq discs Gen3 R2...so far....

UPDATE

the backup of halo I made on these discs works OK on another Xbox - just not on mine. The movies are screwed still but they seem to work on Xbox - maybe I need to adjust the POT ?
