ntl Analogue

Does anybody know if ntl are still running analogue services? I have heard that you can descrample pay channels (eg Sky One and the movie channels etc) using a WinTV Go card and appropriate softwear. I would like to know if analogue services are still working, how long they are likely to continue for and if the above method works well

when i rang to cancel ntl analogue the woman said they won't be collecting the box. i can still get bbc 1 & 2, ITV, 4, 5, sky one, mtv, uk gold, parliment, sky news and all free to view channels. hope it helps.

Yes mate what u r saying is true. The channels can b decrypted using a win tv card and software, the problem that I have and also a good deal of others are that the software is not compatable with xp. Alternatively you could chip the box, as ntl don't want it back it theoretically belongs 2 u. To chip the box u would need a 509 chip,wiring diag,a bit of programming knowledge (and software) and soldering skills.

there are many channels still working on analogue eg all the sports , some movies, some music.

im not sure if its CABLECRYPT ur talking about but i heard many many bad reports about it.

like ackster says tho u cud mod ur box using one of the many available diags - altho be aware that altho some joey on the fone has said they dont want the box back that does not mean you now own it.

To get Just NTL analogue - say you are only interested in A phone line - but you maybe interested in subscribing to say only "Sony Entertainment television - asian Channel - for a month on a on/off basis. But You dont want it on digital as it costs �14.99 then a further �5-6 for Sony - whereas on analogue its �11.99 + �5-6.

Mind you I only used the above when i wanted a New installation (FREE) and it worked

it is 100% true ntl are telling customers that if they disconnect analogue the should bin the box as they dont want em back. so in effect its yours

I'm still running analogue and digi (greedy b*****d :thumbs ) and lots of channels still there, PPV footy, sports, films etc

Only bad thing is quite a few channels are vanishing off the old Analogue service

I actually dont mind it, I know its fuzzy and not clear/sharp but it dont have digital flaws, blocky/pixel and freezing probs like Digital tech has even if it is at a mininum.
