    ftp 192.168.0.101 - is this what you want me to type on the command prompt?

    i get-

    >ftp: connect :Unknown error number
    ftp>.


    when i just ping the xbox ip it times out, any help!

    could there be a fault on the cross over cable?

    there's definitely something not right mate, it's working enough to see the IP but it's not getting ICMP echos thru..

    All I can suggest is that you either try another cable or try your Xbox on someone else's PC or vice versa..

    thanks for all your help, i have tried my xbox on someone elses pc, thats how i got evox installed.

    i am taking the cabel to work tomoz to have it checked.

    when i do figure it out how do i copy info of a cd when it automatically boot the cd?

    can i copy info to xbox hdd without connecting to pc?

    erm, wait until evo-x is loaded, if you insert a dvd / cd at that point it won't auto boot it..

    if you want to copy stuff straight off cd use xbcopy or the Project X HDD Loader which Raptor has said is better..

    do you mean wait until evo-x is loaded from cd or hdd, when i press eject it reboots the xbox?

    is the xbox system link cable a crossover cable? i have 2 nics on my pc...i connected the xbox to the second one...but i can't connect to it
