if your gonna buy one make sure it's switchable so you can switch in whichever input you want at the time there much better than the ones you see with just a row of scart sockets with no switches

Get a quattro box from comp fairs (£70) full remote control scart switching 4 into 1 with audio out then take the output through a macmaster (£30 from playstationmods.com) to your video and then a normal scart from your video to the telly.

That way you get a macro free signal going through your video from whatever devices you have plugged into the quattro unit.

Gotta agree with ABCMan, I've got one of these myself (the Quattro Plus) and it's the dogs dangly bits.
More inputs & outputs than you will ever need and every single input/output can handle composite, s-video, RGB & stereo audio.

Mate, I don't think you'll beat this one for the money:

It is £9.99 on offer. Use the maplin site and enter mk36 into the "code search" box.

    Here's ome blurb:
A switch box providing an easy method connecting a TV and up to three separate sources such as DVD, cable TV, Sky satellite, VCR, etc. Any of the sources can be selected by front panel push buttons. In addition, a recorder connected to input A can record from either input B or C. This versatile switcher also features phono socket outputs for stereo audio and video. The unit is housed in a sturdy steel black case.
    Dimensions: 145(w)x130(d)x45(h)mm.

    * Ideal if your TV is short of SCART sockets

    * Comprehensive switching options allow you to watch one source and record another

    * Composite, RGB and S-video compatible
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
