I reckon even a corsa sri will cost too much to insure m8...

It's your 1st car so I assume you have zero no claims..

Run anything that says sri on its arse and the insurers will have you....

Since you want something quick and that handles, it all depends how much you wana spend on insurance.

Let us know how much you can spend, then we can give you an idea??

id get sommit that you could learn to drive in first, and i know you have probly passed your test but why dose it have to be fast? why not get some road sense first?whats the hurry?lol. theres plenty of cars out there without gti sri ect badges on em that are cool and fast enough for a new addition to the rat race(drivers)

i found tesco insurance the cheapest m8. try them online.
i personally recommend vauxhall, so corsa would be a good choice, ive currently got a mk3 astra. but afew of my mates have cavs. fords tend to be unreliable but rs turbos are fun.

For insurance try eggmotor, I tried them just before my last renewal came around. I have an mgf vvc and saved £130 on my policy - more or less the same policy. I was previously with admiral. If you do decide to take some insurance from egg take my advice and pay with an egg card (it's worth getting one because...) you get something like 20% off the price.

Getting a quote from there is a piece-a-cake anyway so just try it and see. If you save £££ just buy me a beer or say thanks

    peugeot 306,

    nova ,

    vectra,

    golf,

cheap to run,not sure about insurance side though?

and you can always get it chipped and put a dump valve on at a later date?
